Chapter Six
Hawkpaw could barely see. Someone shoved something in his mouth, and caught by surprise, he swallowed it. The RiverClan appentice felt sick. Had it been the killing deathberries he had heard about. His stomach turned and a liquidy vomint came out of his mouth. Wel, he could tell it wasn't deathberries. Deathberries didn't make you throw up. In the next second something else was given to him. He vaguely recognized the scent, and was pretty sue it was thyme. "Mothwing, he's alive!" A voice rasped hoarsely. It was Willowstream, who was nosing him anxiously. The dappled gold she-cat pushed her apprentice aside to touch noses with the half-drowned apprentice. "Oh thank StarClan..." She mewed almost silently. Awkwardly, Hawkpaw stroked her shoulder with his tail. He felt sorry for blaming her earlier, because she was technically his sister. "Is the other cat alright?" Hawkpaw asked weakly. Mothwing nodded. "That was Steampaw of ThunderClan. Leafpool and Jayflight sent him because they want a meeting of all the medicine cats." The dark brown tabby couldn't help butnotice she looked at him uneasily then averted her gaze after she mentioned the meeting. His ears pricked in surprise. It wasn't the half-moon, and medicine cats didn't meet outside tht time except in emergencies. Hawkpaw was dying to ask what was the matter, but he could tell Mothwing didn't want to speak of it to him. "Will you be alright or should I leave Willowstream to look after you?" Mothwing asked, glancing nervously at him. "I'm fine." He meowed, and limped out of the medicine cat den, unable to shake the memory of the meeting.
Hawkpaw staggered into the apprentice dne and collapsed onto his den. A tortoiseshell she-cat named Turtlepaw looked at him sympathetically. "Are you alright?" She asked. He nodded weakly, coughing slightly from the extra water. The other apprentice pushed a small fish toward him "Cloudpaw asked me to give this to you." Turtlepaw murmured. Hawkpaw nodded gratefully and ate the fish in greedy gulps. As he curled up, the way Mothwing acted after mentioning the meeting crossed the dark brown tabby's mind. But he didn't spend too much time thinking about it; soon he was in a deep slumber.

Chapter Seven The ThunderClan and RiverClan medicine cats tore up the ground in front of them as they waited for WindClan and ShadowClan at the Moonpool. They didn’t know the urgency of the situation, so they hadn’t arrived as early. Finally, a glimpse of three brown pelts appeared. The ShadowClan medicine cat Littlecloud yowled a greeting, and the ancient WindClan medicine cat Barkface limped forward, his young apprentice Kestrelpaw at his heels. The brown WindClan medicine cat growled ill-temperedly as he sat down. “Well, I hope you have a good reason for making me drag my old bones up here.” Barkface growled. Mothwing and Leafpool just looked at each other gravely, impatient to talk with StarClan. “Do you wish to tell them or shall I?” Leafpool whispered. Mothwing shook her head and stepped forward, her fur turning silver in the moonlight. “Medicine cats of all Clans, we have some grave news.” Mothwing mewed soberly. “Hawkfrost has been reincarnated.” There was a gasp, followed by a deep silence. After a few minutes, Barkface meowed slowly, “But Hawkfrost never did anything…” “Never did anything!” The gray ThunderClan apprentice spat, his sightless blue eyes flashing angrily. “He tried to convince my father into killing Firestar! You call that nothing?” Leafpool put her tail on Jayflight’s trembling shoulder, but he shrugged it off angrily. His blind gaze turned on all the cats, as if he could see them. “And Barkface, you’re content to let the reincarnation of an evil cat live on? If he had succeeded in tempting Brambleclaw, WindClan would be done for! You’d be HawkClan or whatever, and you’d most likely be under a cruel dictatorship!” Jayflight’s voice increased in volume and passion. “All of you may be content to sit back and not do a thing about this, but I’m not! I’m going to search all of StarClan for the answer to this, even if I have to drown myself in the Moonpool to do so!” His claws flexed out of his gray paws, as if was ready to attack any cat who questioned him. Mothwing’s gray apprentice stood beside Jayflight. “I agree with him! Hawkfrost could’ve done so much to my Clan!” She snarled. Jayflight looked surprised at her support, but dipped his head in respect. Slowly, and nervously, Kestrelpaw stepped forward. “I was only a kit when Hawkfrost was alive, but I think Jayflight’s right.” He mewed quietly, as if afraid Barkface would claw him. Littlecloud stepped forward, amber eyes brimming with hatred. “He dared have false friendships in ShadowClan! He was a traitor to our friendship with him!” The brown tabby tom spat. The normally gentle Leafpool unsheathed her claws. “All of us have just about summed this up. Hawkfrost reincarnated could be disastrous!” Mothwing nodded and pulled back her fangs in a furious snarl, amber eyes smoldering with anger. “He…he was my brother! By betraying RiverClan, he betrayed me!” She growled. Barkface sighed in annoyance. “Well, it looks like I’m outnumbered six to one.” He growled ill-temperedly. “Let’s see what StarClan has to say about all this.”

Myeah, I always get depressed looking at the chapters. They look so bigger on the Works. Yeah, at least that was a longer one. I've started chapter eight, and I only have a little writer's block.

Shortish, but I end chapters when I feel there ready. I should have quite a few then, however.
Chapter Eight Hawkpaw blinked his blue eyes to see Tigerstar glaring down at him. The apprentice warily rose to his paws, keeping the dark brown tabby cat in view all the time. But nothing could prepare him for Tigerstar’s sudden attack. Hawkpaw squirmed under the older cat’s weight, but Tigerstar pushed down firmly. “Traitor. Weak traitor. Saving a kittypet that lives in another Clan!” Tigerstar spat, glaring down at his son. Hawkpaw stared up defiantly at his former father. “I would not let an innocent cat die! That’s not what the warrior code’s about!” Hawkpaw growled back. Tigerstar unsheathed his claws, and pain rushed through the RiverClan apprentice as the long hooked talons gripped his brown pelt. Tigerstar’s amber eyes burned with intense fury. Nostrils flaring Tigerstar yowled, “Warrior code! The only purpose of that is to avoid suspicion! You could’ve left him. There isn’t much suspicious about that.” Hawkpaw glared at the dark brown tabby, feeling a rush of fury. He could not believe Tigerstar’s brutality and malice! He wriggled out of Tigerstar’s grasp and yowled, “No! The warrior code holds the Clans together! And I will be loyal, unlike the cat I reincarnated from!” The dark brown tabby apprentice ran off, crashing through bushes and brambles. With blind fury, he didn’t see the gaping chasm in front of him. Hawkpaw fell into darkness, yowling for help, but there was no one to answer…
Jayflight trembled with terror. Beside him he could smell the fear scent a RiverClan tom, and they were both falling in complete darkness! Jayflight tried to grip the chasm’s wall with his claws, but everything seemed to pull out of reach, as if just to taunt him. Suddenly their eyes met confidently. “We are cats of StarClan!” They yowled at the same time, and instantly they were surging upward, out of the dark chasm. Jayflight looked over at the dark brown tabby and he saw something. A Clan leader, one of the best and most feared in the forest, but bound by the warrior code. “Who are you?” The medicine cat apprentice yowled, but the tom suddenly vanished.

Well, I'll tell you that one of two things will happen: 1. He'll try to take over the forest/succeed for a little bit and get killed shortly after OR 2. He'll become a loyal warrior and eventually a good Clan leader.

Sorry, no can do. But I'll incoporate some evil in him. I don't want to bring him back from the dead so he can die so soon. I'm evil, but not that evil.

Chapter Nine Hawkpaw rolled around the apprentice den frantically, scattering moss everywhere. His brother Stonekit jumped back with a peeved and surprised growl as the dark brown tabby nearly collided with the gray cat. He prodded his brother mercilessly in the ribs as he rolled into him. “Get up, you’re dreaming!” The gray tom growled as Hawkpaw blinked his ice-blue eyes open. He sat up, and licked his white chest self-consciously. Cloudpaw glared softly at her solid gray brother. “Be nicer to him, Stonepaw! He had a very rough day yesterday.” She scolded. Stonepaw looked a little guilty, but just grunted. “Sorry, Hawkpaw. Just stay out any strong rivers with surging currents so I don’t have you wake me up like that.” He mewed, with a hint of amusement, yet genuine command, in his voice. Hawkpaw nodded and gave his siblings both a friendly lick. “I will, Stonepaw.” The dark brown tabby tom replied. “Oh, Hawkpaw, Leopardstar actually told me to wake you. You’re going to the Gathering tonight.” Stonepaw meowed suddenly. Hawkpaw’s eyes widened in excitement. He was seven moons, and still hadn’t been chosen. Hawkpaw’s fur bristled slightly. Was it because he was the reincarnation of Hawkfrost? Well, that didn’t really matter. All that mattered at the moment was that he was going to the Gathering.
There were a lot more cats that Hawkpaw had expected as the island where Gatherings were held. He had heard lots of cats came to Gatherings but…wow. That was all he could think. It was a little hard not to gag though, with the scents of the other Clans all mingling together. Turtlepaw, who had also been chosen, turned to him excitedly. “Awesome isn’t it? I felt the same way my first time.” She meowed eagerly. Hawkpaw nodded, too awed for words. He followed her over to a group of apprentices. “Hi, Thistlepaw! This is my friend Hawkpaw!” The tortoiseshell apprentice mewed to a sliver she-cat who smelled of ShadowClan. The ShadowClan apprentice gave a friendly blink to the RiverClan she-cat, but only acknowledged Turtlepaw and Hawkpaw otherwise by giving a cool dip of her head. Hawkpaw felt a bit dismayed. He was hoping he could be her friend. ShadowClan had been the Clan his father had led. “Don’t mind her. She likes to think the whole world’s against her. Gives her something to complain about.” A light brown tabby WindClan apprentice murmured in Hawkpaw’s ear. Thistlepaw looked up at the tabby, obviously hearing. Hawkpaw winced. But she only acknowledged the tabby by hissing playfully. “I complain a lot, Ryepaw? What about when we were…” She began, but immediately closed her mouth as she had almost said something she hadn’t intended to. The light brown tabby tom grinned, though a shadow lurked in his yellow eyes, as if what Thistlepaw almost said alarmed him too. “Hi! I’m Ryepaw from ThunderClan. You’re Hawkpaw, right?” Hawkpaw nodded. Before they could say much, a dark brown tabby warrior padded over to them. “Come, Ryepaw the Gathering’s about to begin…” The new arrival mewed and stared at Hawkpaw, transfixed. Its amber eyes stretched wide, and he stared straight into Hawkpaw’s ice-blue orbs. Turtlepaw coughed quietly, knowing how uncomfortable her friend was. The dark brown tabby shook his head and walked off. Hawkpaw felt a jolt run through him. He had seen Brambleclaw. He had seen his murderer.
Oh, I'm soooo looking forward to when I make Hawkpaw a warrior. Muhahahahahahahahahaha!
