OOC: This is a continuation to the thread where the rogues attacked. BIC:
*Moonstar gently licked at a small scratch on his shoulder, an evident sign of the rogues that had intruded RiverClan territory. In truth, the scratch was the last thing on his mind. He had to stop protecting them; they had been training for about twelve moons. If he truly loved them he wouldn't rob them of their warrior ceremony. But if you truly love them you want them to be safe. A small voice contradicted. Being a warrior isn't too dangerous, though. Another voice retorted. Sighing, Moonstar decided he just needed someone to voice his true feelings. He strode out of the den, and called out,* Icefur! May I see you for a minute?

*Moonstar liked younger cats, the apprentices and kits. Smiling, the RiverClan leader replies,* No, you can just go and do whatever young apprentices enjoy doing.

*The cat happened to be Icefur, an he gave a quick growl as the apprentice flew into his legs, then quickly stopped and calmed himself*Hello Mintpaw. Busy? *Then he turned to moonstar and asked, dipping his head in respect as he adressed his leader* You called?

Yes, come inside. *The black tom mews, slipping back into the large tangle of reeds that serves as the RiverClan leader's den. He brushes aside some shells which seem to have strayed from the edges of the den. Moonstar hardly realizes why he decorates his den, like all other RiverClan cats; he can never keep them neat. Well, there was one shell that was always in its proper place. Next to his nest of ferns and moss, is a small light blue shell: a gift from his fallen mate, Birchclaw.
The name causes Moonstar to think of why he was here even more. He wonders why he's making it so secretive, but deep down inside, her knows why. He doesn't want any other RiverClan cats overhearing what they were talking about and telling him how obvious the decision was. Sighing, Moonstar sits down and says,* It's been nearly twelve moons since I performed Rainpaw and Snowpaw's apprentice ceremony. Do you think they should be warriors?

No, you don't need to ask Lostshadow. *Moonstar answers, but instead of pride, there's a bit of heaviness in his voice.* I have faith in my kin, I know they're doing well. I knew what I had to do, but I wanted there to be a chance I was wrong.

*Not answring at first, Moonstar jus tpads over to his light blue shell, a sorrw-filled look in his eyes. After a few seconds, the RiverClan leader points to the shell with a claw, and mews,* This belonged to Birchclaw. A warrior's life can be very dangerous, and there's a good chance of death. The thought of one losing their kits is devestating enough. But it's worse when you know a shell will be all you have left of their mother or father if they do join StarClan.

I don't need pity. *Moonstar snarled at his deputy. His fur stands on end, his pride a bit injured by the fact that his grief was so obvious. The black RiverClan leader turns as he hears Mintpaw's voice. Losses? He hadn't noticed any seriously injured cats, then again, he had been preoccupied with the thoughts of Snowpaw and Rainpaw. However, if the rogues had killed any of his Clan members, they would pay.* Alright, go on, Mintpaw.
