Yep. I'm writing a warrioratized Sweeney Todd. The main character, who represents Sweeney, is Brokenstar, and yes, he leads ShadowClan, has dark brown fur and amber eyes, but he has NOTHING to do with the one in the books.
Prologue
The ThunderClan queen Whiteleaf couldn’t stop a purr of amusement rumbling in her throat as she saw Barkclaw entering the nursery to visit his mate Leafcloud and his newborn daughter Jewelkit for at least the third time that day. Barkclaw had always loved his mate, since his apprenticeship actually, so of course he was besotted with his and Leafcould’s kit as well. He was gently licking and nuzzling the two light brown she-cats gently, murmuring soft, loving words to them. Whiteleaf sighed happily at the sweetness between the small family. Though she never would complain about her mate, she wished she and Lionfang could share such a relationship. Her happy and wistful thoughts vanished as soon as she saw the Clan leader Thornstar pass the nursery, shooting a covetous glance inside. Thornstar had always lusted after Barkclaw’s mate, and it had infuriated the ThunderClan leader when Leafcloud announced she was having the dark brown tabby’s kits. She worried for the three happy cats, but shook her head, impatient at herself. Surely Thornstar was mature enough to accept that Whiteleaf was in love with Barkclaw, and things would stay that way.
Still, the gray tom stared at the nursery covetously, his yellow eyes burning with anger and desire. A thin tortoiseshell tom sat behind him. It was his deputy, Beetlefoot. His amber eyes were also filled with jealousy. Both leader and deputy wanted Leafcloud as their mate, and for the two of them, if not for Barkclaw, their problems would be solved! The only other reason Leafcloud would take a mate would be if a cat asked her to carry their kits, and being a cat who enjoyed being the mother of kits, she’d agree to their requests. But now she’d never betray Barkclaw.
“Barkclaw! If he wasn’t around!” Beetlefoot spat, voicing their thoughts. “He’s no decent warrior now anyway. All he does is stay with her (not that I blame him) and that little brat of his.” He looked up at his leader, hoping for approval. Perhaps their would’ve been, if lust hadn’t taken control of his emotions. “Wouldn’t it be great if he did something so we could kick him out?” Beetlefoot added absent-mindedly. Suddenly a sinister smile came over Thornstar’s face.
“Yes, it would, wouldn’t it.”
“Goodbye, Leafcloud. Thornstar will probably want me for dawn patrol.” Barkclaw mewed, gently licking his mate between the ears, and then nuzzling their only kit. “And I’ll bring something yummy for you and your mommy to share.” He cooed gently. Barkclaw exited the nursery, dawn’s first light warming his fur. He had woken up very early for some reason, and decided to visit his mate and kit. It was a wonderful beginning to the day. Alas, before midday however, his whole life would be shattered.
Barkclaw hadn’t gotten a fox-length away from the nursery when two warriors pinned him down. Snarling, Barkclaw struggled against them, but they were stronger and outnumbered him. Resistance was futile.
“Hold him down, warriors, we all know how dangerous he is.” Thornstar mewed coldly. Barkclaw looked up at his leader with indignation and bewilderment.
“Thornstar, I haven’t done anything! Tell them to let me go!”
“Silence, Barkclaw. ThunderClan doesn’t tolerate apprentice killers.” The gray ThunderClan leader threw forward a small black body. Barkclaw’s eyes widened in shock.
“Nightpaw’s…dead?”
“Don’t play dumb with me, Barkclaw. You have until sunhigh to get off ThunderClan territory. Chase him away.” Thornstar ordered, and instantly the warriors who had pinned him released their prisoner, but advanced on Barkclaw menacingly.
“No! I didn’t do anything! Don’t make me leave! Leafcloud! Jewelkit!”
Complete crud, I know.
