Yep, I've gotten sucked into the web of writing oneshots. So I decided I should make a thread to post any oneshots I write. Some may be Warriors ones, some might not (I'm going to write some Phoenix Wright ones soon). The first one's technically a songfic, but I don't care!
Well, the moon sank as the wind blew
And the street lights slowly died
Yeah they call you the wild one
Said stay away from her
Said she couldn't love no one if she tried
Rowanclaw watched as the tortoiseshell she-cat eat alone with a wistful look in his eyes. No matter what the rest of ShadowClan thought, she was beautiful. They were all just biased by her ThunderClan heritage, but she would always be as much as a ShadowClan warrior as one born in the Clan to him.
“What are you staring at?” Asked a dark gray tom, Cedarheart, who was eating with him. The ginger tom hesitated, then sighed,
“Tawnypelt.” Cedarheart sputtered and nearly choked on his frog. He looked at Rowanclaw, green eyes huge.
“What! I can’t say I haven’t noticed you trying to be on patrol with her, but Tawnypelt? I’m sorry, but she will never be a queen! And even if she would, your kits would be as good as HalfClan.” The dark gray tom mewed. Rowanclaw didn’t reply for a few minutes. Then in a barely audible voice, he murmured,
“I don’t care.” And with those words he walked over to her.
But then somethin' I saw in your eyes
Told me right away
That you were gonna have to be mine
The strangest feeling came over me down inside
No matter what it takes
I'll never get over how good it felt
When you finally held me
I will never regret baby
Those few hours linger on in my head forever
“Hi, Tawnypelt. Will…will you share tongues with me?” Rowanclaw asked shyly. The tortoiseshell she-cat gave him a confused look, but nodded. She put down her vole and gently rasped her tongue over his ginger ear. He sighed happily, feeling he’d be content even if he knew the next day ShadowClan would be devoured by a pack of dogs.
“I was wondering if you’d ever come over. Lately you’ve just been staring like a moonstruck rabbit.” She mewed, teasing in her voice. But was there something else in her eyes? Rowanclaw could hardly stand. He could’ve sworn there was some sort of happy look in her green eyes. Should he ask to be her mate? No, she didn’t know how he had loved her! Ever since she came into ShadowClan, begging her father to take her in, he had felt something.
“Tawnypelt, I…I’ve been trying to be with you for a long time.” He meowed, his voice shaking. Tawnypelt watched and nodded. “That’s why I want to say…do…do you ever want to have kits?” Tawnypelt stared forward, then said something that made his heart break.
“No, I’m sorry, Rowanclaw. The life of a queen is no life for me.”
Well it's too bad but I want you
To know I understand
Yeah it's been a long time
But I don't mind, yeah it's all right
I understand
“It’s alright. Forget I asked.” Rowanclaw choked. The rest of their meal and sharing of tongues took place in awkward silence. The ginger tom cursed himself for rushing the relationship, while the tortoiseshell she-cat’s eyes shone with guilt at rejecting Rowanclaw. Suddenly Blackstar’s voice rang out. Sighing, the ginger cat went to his paws.
“It must be Smokepaw’s warrior ceremony. See you around.” Rowanclaw mewed, and walked away.
Because somethin' I saw in your eyes
Told me right away
That you were gonna have to be mine
The strangest feeling came over me down inside
I knew right away
I'd never get over how good it felt
When you finally kissed me
I will never regret baby
Baby, those few hours linger on in my head forever
“Wait! Rowanclaw!” Tawnypelt called. The ginger tom looked back to see the tortoiseshell running towards him. Their eyes met, one pair yellow, the other green.
“Yes?” Tawnypelt took a deep breathing, her heart obviously pumping fast.
“Someday, I want to have kits. Your kits. Rowanclaw, I love you.”
“I love you too, Tawnypelt.”
Not that good, I'll have a better one later.
