I won't be able to post chapters for a while, 'cause of Traitors Lurk and Heroes Rise, but here it is:
The ginger tom stepped into the Moonstone. He felt he needed to speak with StarClan. He did not know why, he just felt he had to. He put his nose to the luminous white stone and was soon granted sleep from StarClan. A blue-gray she-cat approached him, almost like a gray lion. The ginger tom felt happiness rush through him. “Bluestar!” The gray she-cat did not return his greeting, just whispered, “There will be three, kin of your kin who shall hold the power of the stars in their paws…”
The dark brown tabby paced outsides the nursery anxiously. His mate’s kits were coming! There was a mewl of healthy kit, followed by two more. Pride rushed through him. He was a father! The dark brown tabby slid into the nursery, where a light brown tabby stood over a ginger she-cat. The light tabby sternly looked up. “She needs rest, Brambleclaw. Honestly, I can take care of my own sister.” She ended with an amused purr. Brambleclaw mrrow good-naturedly. The ginger she-cat looked up, her tired green eyes shining with happiness. “Let him see them, Leafpool. They’re wonderful.” The dark brown tabby looked down at the three kits; one black, one blue-gray, the third golden-ginger. He smiled proudly at them. “They’re beautiful kits.” The ThunderClan deputy mewed. “And if they’re anything like their father, they shall become great warriors.” Firestar, the ThunderClan leader, stuck his bright ginger head in the nursery, green eyes shining with pride. Leafpool dipped her head respectfully at her leader and father. “Welcome back, Firestar. How was the trip to the Moonstone?” Firestar’s green eyes clouded with confusion and worry. “It was…fine.” He said, and walked off, the words echoing in his mind: There will be three, kin of you kin…

Brambleclaw sniffed the air. Fox! He turned to the solid gray tom next to him. “Stormfur, do you smell that?” Brambleclaw asked. The gray tom nodded. The dark brown ThunderClan deputy turned to a light tabby, long-furred white tom, and his tortoiseshell apprentice. “We should be fine as long as we stick together. And I don’t want to see any rash behavior.” His amber gaze seemed to fall directly at the white tom, whose claws were already unsheathed. Brambleclaw sniffed the air and crept forward, the ThunderClan warriors following. He braced himself for a battle when the scent got stronger, but he stood rigid at the sight in front of him. A bunch of mewling fox cubs nosed their mother, who was caught in a fox trap. For a second Brambleclaw felt sympathy for the little foxes. The white tom stepped forward, and looked at them disdainfully. “They’re going to grow up into killers. We should kill them before they grow!” He announced. Brambleclaw shook his head in disapproval. “We shall do nothing of the sort, Cloudtail. They might leave our territory, and ThunderClan doesn’t kill senselessly, no matter what the creatures are.” He looked back at the vixen’s corpse, which Stormfur was sniffing intently. He ignored the mewls of the cubs, he just sniffed at the body. “Cat scent…ThunderClan?” He murmured. Brambleclaw stepped forward, but Stormfur shook his head. “No, it’s just a kittypet. Still…” Brambleclaw said that they should tell Firestar what they saw, and ordered his warriors to return home. Stormfur reluctantly left the fox. What was that scent?
The three kits squealed and tumbled out of the nursery when they scented Brambleclaw returning. The black one and the golden-ginger one, Hollykit and Lionkit, ran forward, and were at his paws in an instant. However, Jaykit, the little blue-gray tom, frantically sniffed the air and twitched his ears before staggering over, and looking up with misty blue eyes. Brambleclaw blinked in confusion but licked them all. “Go back to the nursery, you lot. There’s your mother calling you now.” Squirrelflight had exited the nursery and started to call them back to her. Hollykit and Lionkit mewed goodbye and scampered back. Jaykit again sniffed the air and listened before walking over, nearly bumping into a bush. Leafpool watched, concerned. “I think I should keep an eye on Jaykit. He seems to have trouble seeing. Oh, Whitestream’s kits were born.” She told Brambleclaw. The deputy was filled with concern at her first words, but he cheered up slightly at her second. “That’s great!” He said, and went off to visit the new kits and Squirrelflight. In the nursery the three kits wriggled at her belly. The dark tabby licked his mate gently and looked at ThunderClan’s newest kits. One was ginger; the other was a silvery gray. Spiderleg strode in proudly. It was pretty obvious by his expression he was their father. “Hi, Brambleclaw. Checking in one Icekit and Foxkit?” He asked. Brambleclaw nodded. “They’re fine kits.” He mewed. Foxkit! He had to tell Firestar about the fox cubs! Quickly he left the nursery, and saw the ThunderClan leader padding away with a mouse. “Firestar! May I have a word?” He called. The ginger tom turned and nodded. Brambleclaw immediately told him about the fox’s body and her kits. The Clan leader listened intently. “Hmm. They’re young enough now, but I’ll see to it we’re careful. They’ll grow soon enough.” He lifted his head and stared eye to eye at Brambleclaw. “Thank you for telling me. You are a fine deputy, Brambleclaw.” The dark tabby shuffled the ground in embarrassment at the unnecessary praise. He wasn’t that good a deputy; a scar on Firestar’s throat proved that. His late half-brother, Hawkfrost, had set a trap for Firestar along with Ashfur, a former ThunderClan cat. He and his brother had been plotting with their dead father, the treacherous warrior Tigerstar, to take over the Clans. The temptation to kill Firestar had been great, but in the end he had killed Hawkfrost and rescued Firestar. Brambleclaw nodded his head in thanks, and padded away.
“I’m sorry, Squirrelflight. Jaykit’s blind.” Brambleclaw had walked past Leafpool just in time to freeze at the ThunderClan medicine cat’s words. The dark ginger she-cat’s green eyes widened in shock and grief. “Blind? That means he’ll probably…never be a warrior.” She whispered. Leafpool nodded sympathetically. She opened her mouths to say some comforting words, but Jaykit with his sharp ears heard. “Never be a warrior? No!” He yowled. Fury lit up in his blind eyes. “You’re wrong, Leafpool, wrong! I’ll be the greatest warrior ever!” His blue-gray tail twitched angrily. Leafpool looked at him with gentle amber eyes. “Jaykit, StarClan will keep your paws on the path they have set for you. You shall do something important in their eyes…” But Jaykit had stalked off. The medicine cat sighed. “I’m sorry. I wish I could’ve done something. There must be something I can do!” She mewed quietly. Squirrelflight nodded. “Yes, there is. Stop blaming yourself and let StarClan work out his fate.” She replied, the fire of her father clearly running through the blood in her veins. “StarClan has a plan for him, as they do for all of us.”
The next day Brambleclaw returned from sunhigh patrol to find the camp in an uproar. Squirrelflight was sobbing quietly near Leafpool and a ginger and white queen named Brightheart, Cloudtail’s mate, while Whitestream kept her kits right by her. “What’s wrong?” Brambleclaw demanded. “Our kits! They’ve disappeared!” His mate yowled. One of the elders, a dark brown tabby name Dustpelt unsheathed his claws. “ShadowClan’s been stealing kits like they did when I was an apprentice! Why when I get my claws!” He snarled, and Brambleclaw remembered he had been Squirrelflight’s mentor. Firestar appeared, trying to calm the cats. “Let’s not jump to conclusions, Dustpelt. That was under the rule of Brokentail. Has anyone seen them?” He called. Cinderpaw, a dark gray she-cat, stepped forward. “I heard Jaykit talking with Hollykit and Lionkit just outside the nursery. He kept talking about proving themselves worthy, and mentioned the fox cubs.” She looked guilty. “I’m sorry, I thought he was just upset, I didn’t think…” “You did nothing wrong.” Firestar interrupted. “Brambleclaw, Sorreltail, Cloudtail, and Thornclaw. I want you to try to find them, before the foxes do.” Panic racing through him, Brambleclaw nodded and went off with the warriors.
Before long they caught the kits’ scent. They were nearing where they had found the vixen’s corpse, and obviously looking for the fox cubs! “Mouse-brains! What were they thinking?” Sorreltail, the tortoiseshell and white she-cat hissed, though Brambleclaw detected it was concern for the kits. He was about to reply when there was a frantic yowl. The kits! The four cats hurried over to where the noise led them, and they found the fox cubs outside the hole to their den. Huddled inside were the kits.

Yep. BTW, Graystripe fans, you might like this chapter! Brambleclaw jumped forward, claws unsheathed. He jerked one cub away from the entrance, allowing the kits some chance of escape. “Run!” He ordered between a mouthfuls of red fur. The kits hurried off. One of the cubs bit Lionkit painfully on the tail. He yelped, but didn’t stop, just pulled away, leaving the tip of his tail behind. Jaykit frantically scurried with Hollykit, her tail wrapped around his shoulders. The cubs pursued, but were pounced on by Cloudtail and Thornclaw. “Sorreltail! Take them home. Hollykit, Jaykit, Lionkit, stay by Sorreltail…” But the kits were already off toward ThunderClan camp. Hissing in annoyance, Sorreltail dashed after them. The cubs struggled away from the warriors. “And don’t come back!” Thornclaw yowled. Brambleclaw didn’t think it was over. And Sorreltail’s yowl announced that. She was standing over the kits, cornered by the biggest dog fox ever. The tortoiseshell and white she-cat’s ears flattened at the fox. The kits huddled in terror as it struck Sorreltail hard across the face, knocking her away. Brambleclaw looked in horror as she just lay there, eyes closed and very still. He tensed his muscles to spring, the a light brown she-cat with short fur and brown paws darted in after a long furred gray tom. “Millie! Look after the tortoiseshell!” He ordered jumping on fox’s back and cruelly biting its ear. The fox shook the gray cat off and pinned it, teeth sinking into its throat. The gray tom retaliated by buffeting its underside with his back paws. The fox released him, and the cat grabbed the kits. Brambleclaw slowly became aware of what had happened. Stormfur with some…kittypet had followed their patrol. How didn’t he notice? Instantly, he jumped at the fox, Thornclaw and Cloudtail following. Thornclaw and Cloudtail pinned it and bit the back of its neck, and Brambleclaw bit the front, killing it. The gray tom limped over, amber eyes clouding. “Brambleclaw…I’ve returned.” And he fell, the kits dropping from his mouth. They huddled behind the shocked Brambleclaw. The cat who had saved the kits wasn’t Stormfur. It was Graystripe. Thornclaw, Cloudtail, and the kittypet Millie struggled over the burden of Graystripe and Sorreltail. Brambleclaw walked ahead with the kits, his face expressionless. On one paw, Graystripe, a popular warrior who had been stolen by Twolegs, was back, so he was happy. On the other paw, he was concerned because Graystripe had been ThunderClan deputy, and one of Firestar’s closest friends. Would his position get taken away? He felt shame at his ambition, but that didn’t stop his want for keeping his position. But guilt stabbed him again. Would Tigerstar have felt like this? Firestar had immediately taken Graystripe to Leafpool’s den, along with Sorreltail and the kits. “Sorreltail will be alright, she just got knocked out. Same with the kits. Graystripe…I’ll do what I can.” The ginger leader nodded, and didn’t leave the den, while the other cats on patrol left quietly. Brambleclaw stayed though. “Firestar.” He prompted. “Do you need to…speak to some young cats?” He asked. Firestar nodded numbly and walked out. The dark brown tabby retold the tale to the ThunderClan leader, who listened absent-mindedly. After hearing the complete story, anger burned in his green eyes. “What were you all thinking? You’ve gotten Sorreltail injured, Graystripe nearly killed…you caused danger to the whole Clan! The fox could’ve killed you, you could’ve been captured by Twolegs or enemy cats, you could’ve even started a Clan war if you went on ShadowClan territory! You know how Blackstar is. What have you to say for yourself?” He spat angrily. Brambleclaw felt Firestar may have been overreacting, but held his tongue. Finding Graystripe injured was hardly anyway to get to greet his long lost friend. Jaykit looked up with bold, blind eyes. “Leafpool said I’d never be a warrior and I was going to prove her I could be one! I told Hollykit and Lionkit we’d be helping the Clan.” He said. Firestar’s eyes narrowed at his audacity. “Is that so? Well, if you want to be a warrior, you should start by obeying the warrior code! A punishment should in order. Hollykit, you are to help Leafpool. Lionkit, take care of the queens and the other kits in the nursery. And you, Jaykit, are to take care of the elders. Give Sorreltail’s kit’s a rest.” The black she-cat and her golden-ginger nodded, but Jaykit opened his mouth in protest. “What! I was helping! This is stupid.” He stalked off, sniffing the air and straining his ears to guide his path. Hollykit and Lionkit shrank as Firestar watched, too furious to speak. Brambleclaw ushered the two kits away. “Come on. I’m sure Firestar will let you wait until tomorrow, it was a tiring day.”

Stormfur and Firestar rarely left Graystripe’s side. The former ThunderClan deputy was going in and out, just whispering Firestar and Stormfur’s name when he opened his eyes. The kittypet, Millie had settled in with Daisy. So far with all the confusion no cat protested her arrival. Finally, Leafpool announced, “Graystripe is getting better, and he’s awake.” Firestar, Stormfur, and Brambleclaw instantly went to see the gray warrior. “Firestar it’s good to be back. ThunderClan must’ve been without a deputy for a while.” The ginger ThunderClan leader stiffened. He obviously wasn’t looking forward to those words. “Graystripe.” He said slowly. “ThunderClan’s had a deputy when you were gone.” The gray tom looked up with expressionless amber eyes. “Brambleclaw is ThunderClan deputy.” The former deputy nodded. “I understand. You had your reasons.” Graystripe said slowly. Turning his head towards Brambleclaw he added, “I’m sure you’ve been a…fine deputy.” The dark brown tabby felt a flush of guilt prickle his fur, though he knew this wasn’t the least bit his fault. Firestar nodded, feeling flustered and stressed at having to tell his old friend he was no longer deputy. “He has. Can you come to the Gathering tonight Graystripe?” The ginger leader asked, eager to change to subject. Graystripe shook his head dully. “I think I need to recover some more.” He replied curtly. Firestar’s green eyes were downcast, but he said no more. He went on to the Highrock and announced the cats he’d bring: Brambleclaw, Leafpool, Squirrelflight, Stormfur, Sorreltail, Brook, Honeypaw, and Brackenfur. The patrol of the cats left, Brambleclaw fighting a mental civil war. Graystripe technically should be ThunderClan deputy. But why should he feel guilty about keeping his position?
Blackstar, a white tom with jet black paws, entered the Gathering with ShadowClan. Tawnypelt, ShadowClan’s deputy and Brambleclaw’s sister, followed, no arrogance or pride in her eyes. Brambleclaw, was proud of his sister. She was ThunderClan born, so she had to work hard to prove herself loyal. But after risking her life trying to save Russetfur from a badger, the mortally wounded deputy stated that Tawnypelt deserved the position. Onestar the WindClan leader, entered with his warriors, among them Brambleclaw, Tawnypelt, Squirrelflight, and Stormfur’s old friend. He was followed by a silvery apprentice. Mistystar, leader of RiverClan, Stormfur’s old Clan came next. Brambleclaw, Stormfur, Tawnypelt, and Squirrelflight went over to Crowfeather. “Hello. Have you met my apprentice, Breezepaw?” The gray-black warrior gently nudged his apprentice, who was also his and a she-cat named Nightcloud’s son, forward. The silver tom looked up suspiciously. “Why are you so close with them? They’re from other Clans!” He sneered. Crowfeather hissed softly, but replied, “We were called by StarClan to journey together once. At least, these are most of the ones called by StarClan.” The gray-black warrior’s gaze fell on Squirrelpaw and Stormfur, who had accompanied the StarClan called cats, though they weren’t chosen. But as he glanced at Stormfur, Brambleclaw knew he was thinking of another cat. Brambleclaw, Tawnypelt, and Crowfeather had been called by StarClan along with a she-cat named Feathertail, Stormfur’s sister. She had been Crowfeather’s true love, but she had bravely sacrificed her life to save the Tribe of the Rushing Water, a Clan in the mountains Brook came from, from a huge cat named Sharptooth. Crowfeather never stopped missing her, and Brambleclaw knew having a mate couldn’t change that. Breezepaw sized the four up. “Well, if we have to fight them, they’re no match for WindClan. I never thought the other Clans were so weak and puny.” A nearby WindClan queen named Whitetail heard this and looked sharply at Crowfeather. “Crowfeather, you’re letting him talk that way to your friends, and insult warriors from other Clans at a Gathering! Teach him some manners, for StarClan’s sake!” Crowfeather murmured apologies, both to his friends and Whitetail, he ushered Breezepaw away, obviously intending on rebuking him. Tawnypelt, Brambleclaw, Voletooth the RiverClan deputy, and Tornear the WindClan deputy sat at the roots of the tree where Firestar, Onestar, Mistystar, and Blackstar perched, for the Gathering was about to start.

New chapter.
“ThunderClan shall speak first, if you don’t mind.” Firestar said, glancing at the other Clan leaders, who nodded in approval. “First off, fox cubs and large dog fox were recently driven from ThunderClan territory. I advise you to keep a lookout for the fox. ThunderClan is not weakened at all.” Firestar’s green gaze shifted towards Blackstar. “And we also have good news. One of our warriors, Graystripe, has returned.” From a few cats, mostly RiverClan, happy mews answered the ThunderClan leader’s announcement. Mistystar stepped up. “We are glad to see one of our old Clanmates safe in the forest,” The blue-gray leader said. “RiverClan has had no trouble with the fox. The river is flowing deeply, and prey is rich.” She announced, and Blackstar spoke next. “ShadowClan is low on prey. Our kits and elders may starve if we don’t get more prey.” It was evident the white tom hated having to admit this, but was desperate. He turned to Firestar. “In the name of StarClan, ShadowClan knows of your mercy and pleads that you give us permission to hunt!” He begged. The ginger tom’s shoulders twitched as he thought about. Then he nodded. “Very well, Blackstar. You may hunt on a small portion of ThunderClan territory. We shall place scent markers to show where it ends. We will not tolerate any stealing!” Firestar added firmly. Blackstar nodded and murmured words of gratitude. Onestar arrogantly started to speak. “WindClan also gives a warning for the Clans. We scented dog near our territory. WindClan is just as strong however.” Brambleclaw’s fur prickled with irritation as he glanced at Firestar. ThunderClan had always helped WindClan! Also Onestar seemed smug at some of the ThunderClan cats’ unease. Long ago, when Brambleclaw was a young apprentice, his treacherous father Tigerstar led a dog pack into ThunderClan camp. Firestar, Sandstorm, Graystripe, Ferncloud, and the ThunderClan traitor Ashfur had led the dogs to the gorge. That had cost their former leader, Bluestar’s, last life, for she saved Firestar’s life from the leader of the pack, by making a suicidal attack and she fell into the gorge with the pack leader. “We thank you.” Firestar said coolly. “Unless anyway else wishes to speak this Gathering is over.” When there was no reply the Clan leaders jumped off. Mistystar sat talking with Stormfur and Brook, a light brown tabby who was originally from the mysterious tribes. “If you ever wish to return to RiverClan…I’ve forgiven you and Brook, and Hawkfrost is slain…” Stormfur’s amber eyes lit up. “What? You mean we can come back…” Brambleclaw tensed. Would the Clan have to lose Stormfur now that Graystripe was back? He did not want to be separated from his friend. Immediately he started nudging Stormfur. “Uh, Firestar says we have to go. Come on, Stormfur, Brook.” Stormfur followed. “I’ll consider your offer, Mistystar. I want to at least wait until my father’s better.”
“Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey gather here beneath the Highrock for a Clan meeting!” Firestar’s voice rang out through the camp. “Hollykit, Jaykit, Lionkit, please come up.” The three kits immediately scampered onto the Highrock, neatly groomed. “From this day forth, until she has earned her warrior name, this apprentice will be called Hollypaw.” The ginger leader was about to say who the mentor would be, when the black she-cat interrupted. “Wait, Firestar.” She said. “Helping Leafpool made me feel I am not destined to be a warrior. I think StarClan calls me to be a medicine cat.” Firestar slowly nodded and turned to Leafpool. “Do you approve?” He asked. The light brown tabby nodded. “She showed promise.” “Then Leafpool, you shall mentor Hollypaw. You have shown great faith in StarClan, and saved many lives. May you pass down your skills to this young apprentice.” The two touched noses eagerly. “At the half-moon you shall be taken to be accepted by StarClan.” Leafpool said, leaping down from the Highrock with the black apprentice. Firestar then placed his tail on Lionkit’s shoulder. There was a sense of pride in his son, as if he reminded him of someone he admired. “From this day forth, until he has earned his warrior name, this apprentice shall be called Lionpaw. Birchtail, you worked hard to prove your loyalty, and have, despite your mentor’s actions. You shall be a mentor to Lionpaw.” A brown tabby who looked a bit like Dustpelt jumped up and touched noses with Lionpaw. Then Firestar looked gently at Jaykit. “From this day forth, until he has earned his warrior name, this apprentice shall be called Jaypaw. Longtail, you shall mentor Jaypaw.” Longtail? That old tabby? Jaypaw thought in disbelief. Then his blind eyes narrowed. Longtail’s blind too! He doesn’t think I can be a warrior! And Firestar did say that. Well, he talked about ‘learning the warrior code’ was how he’d be trained. But Jaypaw wasn’t fooled. He refused to touch noses with Longtail, just went to the den when the ceremony was over.
Jaypaw slept peacefully until he woke up in a place with a new scent. He couldn’t see him, but a dark tabby with a white chest and blue eyes stood in front of him. He smiled calmly. “My brother’s extremely lucky to have such a fine kit. Firestar should see what a great warrior you’d make. Oh, my name‘s Hawkfrost.” Jaypaw gasped. “How’d you know Firestar doesn‘t think that, Hawkfrost?” He demanded. Hawkfrost laughed. “Oh, I just do. Just go to sleep, little one. We shall meet again.”

Yep. If I didn't make it clear enough, Firestar doubts a blind cat will be able to hunt and fight, so he makes Longtail his mentor so he can at least properly learn the warrior code. Hawkfrost is dead, but he does have a part in my version of The Sight. So does: Tigerstar, duh
