*Moonstar sighs as he sits down in his den. Stormdusk had tried to attack a fellow warrior, Brokenheart, and he had a nagging suspicion none of it, or at least very little, was the she-cat's fault.*

OOC:// Sorry, I was away most of the week. <3 Stormdusk was seated before Moonstar, paws kneading the earth beneath her; she was not nervous, but ensure of how to conduct herself - what she say? And what desired effect did she want? Blinking softly - blue eyes covered with a faint veil of green - she shifted slightly, before lowering her striped face, bending low in a bowing gesture, before straightening.
"I beg for your forgiveness, Moonstar."
She did not even at Stormdusk next to her, instead directing her gaze at her leader, features softening. Flicking her her thick tail, she emitted a whistful sigh. "This incident was entirely my fault; if I had not offended Stormdusk with my words, the he would have had no reason to attack me as so. He was merely defending his honor." It was a shameless lie, delivered to Moonstar unphased, without hint of guilt; she was rather convincing.
But why would she cop the punishment all for herself, when Stormdusk was at fault? She did not know, but the words had just stumbled from her mouth, unbidden. For deep down... she was still trying to repent for Leafgale's death. Taking the punishmnet for another cat - would it lighten her burden? She hoped.

OOC: No problem! ;D
BIC: *The black tom listens intently as Brokenheart explains the situaition. He narrows his eyes, then says,* I see how Stormdusk is not completely in the wrong. *He growls softly.* But I can't let that be an excuse. I may have seen the damage attacking your own can cause more than any cat in the Clan, from the newborn kit to the oldest elder. *And he had. Moonstar's mind flashes images, Wavestar struggling against Ravenpelt, Grayfrost, the deceased ShadowClan deputy; and some rogues, Skyflight pulling Lionpelt off Moonstar's back to save one of his lives, and Batwing lunging forward after being revealed a traitor. Moonstar shudders at the painful memories, then he remembers Brokenheart and Stormdusk are there.* Stormdusk, if you were trying to protect your honor, you failed misrebly. Attacking your Clanmate makes you the least honorable creature in the forest. What do you have to say. *Stormdusk glares at his brother. Any other Clan leader he wouldn't respond to like that, but Moonstar he felt freer to speak his mind.* I should not have attacked. But it would not have hurt her to leave me alone! *Moonstar closed his eyes, counting to ten silently. It doesn't work.* No you shouldn't have, Stormdusk! You wanted to defend your honor? Well you have to earn it back. I shall remove you of your warrior name until the time is right! Until then you shall be an apprentice of RiverClan. *Stormdusk blinks in shock, then gives a hostile glance and storms off.* Brokenheart. *At first that's all Moonstar says. Then,* Do you really think this is your fault?

Brokenheart remained dutifully silent as Moonstar spoke, forcing her shoulders to untense and relax. The she-cat blinks cuiously at her leader as his a shudder ripples down his body, motion fanning into his limbs, but dared not day a word; whatever had made him shudder, evidently bringing up would not help at all. Quietly, she listened as Moonstar addressed Stormdusk, pain swirling in her misty orbs as the feline's words struck her harshly, despite not being directed at her.
"Stormdusk, if you were trying to protect your honor, you failed misrebly. Attacking your Clanmate makes you the least honorable creature in the forest."
The urge to cry surge within the she-cat, but she pushed back the tears in her eyes, swallowing hard; miserably, she let her back arch, and her ears lowered, face burning with heat. Leafgale... Her lip quivered but, after a moment she managed to swallow her emotions and straighten, just in time for Moonstar to again make her want to cry.
"Do you really think this is your fault?"
Brokenheart's breath caught within her throat, and her face furrowed, eyes shining with sadness. She let out a shaky exhale, keeping it as unaudible as possible, before letting her long tail lay motionless caross her footpaws, gaze glued to the ground. It was a good few moments for the she-cat replied, voice soft and hushed.
"Not this time..."
Not this time... it wasn't her fault this time... but last time. It was all her fault. If she hadn't of refused to come back... if she hadn't of fought... if she hadn't run off... if she hadn't loved him... If she had done one thing differently... would she be standing here today? Would she be happy - would her friend still be here?
By now, tears streamed down Brokenheart's face, and her facial features were visibly contorted with agony. She could not feel the lovely warm breeze filtering into Moonstar's den - not even the satisfaction of Stormdusk's demotion. All she could feel was an unbearable weight of sadness and guilt. She had never properly grieved for Leafgale, and she still did not know how to; usually, if she felt these feelings, she would slip out of RiverClan quickly on a "hunting trip" and pretty much wallow in all her mistakes. She wanted to run - far away from the prying eyes of Stormpaw and Moonstar, but...
I will not run.

*Moonstar sighed and turned his back to the den's entrance. He had opened the door to his past, his terrible past.* You are dismissed. *He told Brokenheart curtly, glad that he didn't have to explian Stormpaw's attack wasn't her fault. He wasn't in the mood to talk to anyone. The black tom stared at a light blue shell. It had been his favorite, as well as...* Birchclaw! *The name of his slain love wass barely audible, and filled with rage at her death, he jumped to his paws and smacked it so hard it nearly exited the den. Gingerfur, who was walking by, worriedly picked up the shell and left it next to him. Moonstar didn't reply, and Gingerfur knew she had to leave him alone. Moonstar would go against his own word and lash out at anyone who disturbed him when he was in a mood like that.*

*Gingerfur went to the warriors den as well, solemnly murmuring,* Stay clear of him, Icefur. I don't think he's told you the details, I'm one of the few cats he has, but he has a past. Whenever he does something that makes him remember it, he goes into a rage, as you just saw.

*Gingerfur dips her head politely at the deputy.* No problem, Icefur. *She mews, and goes back in the den, and comes back with Dirtclaw. She then trots over to the apprentices' den.* Hawkpaw? *She calls looking for the red-brown she-cat.* Want to come on patrol? *The scarred black and white she-cat exits the nursery, shooing her kits inside.* Yes, Icefur? *She mews, a rare warmth sparkling in her dark amber eyes.* OOC: Oops. We have two RiverClan Hawkpaws. Oh well, 'cause: Two certain RiverClan apprentices might become warriors after fighting Batwing. *cough(male)HawkpawandWaterpawcough*

*As Rainpaw hears his name, a little delight floods him. He didn't want to admit, but being seperated from his mentor had made him grow closer to the deputy. There was soemthing he didn't want to tell his kin, particularrily Snowpaw and Moonstar.* Sure! And Snowpaw could use some training. Running off like that if there was ever an apprentice who deserved to get her ears clawed... *The black and white she-cat shut her mouth suddenly, remembering her 'training'. She goes off to the apprentice den, while Rainpaw trots over to Icefur.* Icefur? *He mews softly. Unable to contain it, he continues, trying to keep his voice level.* It's my fault Birchclaw died!
OOC: Kid has guilt issues doesn't he? XD But, you must reply to Disturbed Sleep (Contiuned)!
